It's really handy when traveling and there are no electric outlets in the airport and my batteries are running low, I know I'll still be able to use my iphone & ipad on the plane. Solar is good for stretching out the battery time. I don't use solar by itself but it helps make your charge last when I put it in the sun. I also like charging both the ipad and iphone while driving.

The battery never took a charge in full sunlight. So that was strike one. After charging my phone and tablet with it for a week or so the thing wouldn't even hold a charge anymore. Maybe the battery was just defective but it wasn't worth it to exchange it to find out. I returned the battery.

I got really excited about this charger upon receiving it, yesterday; unfortunately, I started frowning after seeing the charger. The fact that it's bulky, twice the thickness of an iPhone and measured 3.5x6.1 didn't bother me that much since I carry tablet around. What I found disturbing was the craftsmanship/quality control. The mini usb looked like it's bent and the battery cover did not fit neatly in the back. I've read other reviews regarding the tab on the battery cover, so I'm not going to bother taking the battery out even though this lemon will be sent back to amazon.com.
After charging the internal battery for 8 hours by plugging in the AC outlet, I plugged in the charging cable in and tried to charger my Samsung Galaxy Tab on the charge/sync usb port as described in the manual and demonstrated on utube. It didn't charge my galaxy tab, red X on the battery. I tried the other usb port and again it didn't charge my Galaxy tab. It stated that... Read more
