Good so far, September 2, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Trident Kraken II Hybrid Case for iPad 2 (KKN2-IPAD-2-BL) (Personal Computers) So let me start by saying that I have an autistic child. I wanted to make sure and protect our investment so the decision to buy the Kraken was not make easily. After researching everywhere I decided that although the case design was not the same as the iPad 1, which is really a shame since it had such a nice design to protect the screen, it was by the same company and had several layers of protection. Once I got the Kraken I found it to be easy to put in and very solidly made. About the only complaint I have is that the latches are really fun for kids to mess with. It would have been nice if they had some sort of locking mechanism. Now I will say that I haven't had the kids drop the iPad yet so I'll be sure to update when it happen, yes I know it will at some point.
Update: As predicted, the boy has dropped the iPad several times now. Luckily not on anything that could damage the face but it has fallen on its side several times. Case has held up really well. The seam where... Read more

Protective, but affects touch screen functionality, December 6, 2011 This review is from: Trident Kraken II Hybrid Case for iPad 2 (KKN2-IPAD-2-BL) (Personal Computers) The case probably does the job of protecting the iPad, but I do not like the built in screen cover. It's like a plastic cover you'd find on the outside of kids' toy packaging. It is not in direct contact with the iPad screen. It makes noise when you tap it and is not as sensitive to touch, especially along the edges and the corners. I just feel like this is too sophisticated a piece of equipment to put a case on it that makes it seem cheap. If you don't care about that, then go for it. If I would have seen this on a review, though, I would have passed.

Excellent protection expecially for kids with autism!, November 14, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Trident Kraken II Hybrid Case for iPad 2 (KKN2-IPAD-2-BL) (Personal Computers) We were originally looking at purchasing the Otterbox because we somehow knew our ipad would get tossed around by our 9-year old autistic son and we needed to make sure we had a shockproof, scratchproof case. However, we were not looking forward to spending another $80 on top of the purchase of the ipad which was solely for our son's use as a communication tool.
After reading through threads of posts on the Apple site, we ordered this case (since it was also way cheaper). When we got it, we loved the blue color! It has a silicone case on the inside just like the Otterbox. Another nice detail is the silicone coming out around the corners which has helped cushion our ipad when it fell a couple of times. And most importantly, it has a tough screen protector which doesn't scratch easily. I would say this is child- and autism-proof!! The only thing I will say is that our son likes to pull out the silicone tabs on the sides which takes it out of place (just a little bit). Not a big... Read more
